Tire Pressure Recommendation for Winter

    Why would Toyota recommend 33/fr 32/r psi if it wasn't the optimum pressure for performance and economy? :confused:

    35/33 actually.

    Because it's a much more comfortable pressure. The ride quality is better at 35/33 than at 40/38.

    33/32 is recommended pressure for the 17", and I believe 35/33 for the 15". FWIW, I bumped our stock 17" (Michelin Pilot something) up to 42 all around (that's after maybe 4 days ownership, LOL), can't really tell any difference, compared to recommended. I used to typically run near max sidewall pressure on our prev. HCHII.

    Thanks for the clarification.

    I do not know.. it's something about the winter tyres (stiffer tread blocks at the edge?). They feel a lot stiffer than the stock tyres at similar pressures.
