I carry a cheap tarp under the floor for loads like this. I bet you inside trim is all scratch up now. Bricks are a nasty load.
It might not be that tiny in cargo space, but it is not very 'tall friendly'. Something that will be fixed in the 2010 model, finally. I've been at car shows, watching tall people sit in the current Prius to sample, with a perplexed look on their face like 'hmmmm, something's off, not sure what it is...' Finally, the 2010 model will erase the 9 years of somewhat marginal legroom and the woeful 4-way adjustable seat. The improvement is overdue in my opinion, but just a couple more months and the Prius will bring much more comfort to people whom are farther from average height and weight.
Sometime ago i got a call to pick up some people from The Clarion hotel at Dublin airport at around 1am,when i walked into the lobby there were 2 adults and 1 teen, there obviously was a mix up,they were booked to stay in The Clarion in City Centre and they were well....annoyed,they didn't have that much luggage but the guy went ballistic..."They've sent me a minicar!!" I tried telling him that it wasn't a problem that everything would fit but Noo,he wasn't having any of it....oh you Statesiders!!
I think the Prius is HUGE! But then my previous cars were: A Vauxhall Corsa A stock 1965 Morris Minor A not-in-any-way-stock hot-rodded 1962 200+Bhp Morris Minor Traveller .. ...and my little City EL IT really is the biggest car I've ever owned. But I think to be honest the Prius is quite a big car (or viewed as such) in the UK.

I haven't done compared the numbers yet, but I have a feeling the Prius has more interior space than my 5 series I used to drive...
It depends on which model year you have. 04-09 Prius: 96 + 16 = 112 cu. ft. 2003 530i : 93 + 11 = 104 cu. ft. 2009 528i: 99 + 14 = 113 cu. ft.
That is incredible...and absolutely true. Want to see more evidence? Look at the Honda Accord in 1989 and 2009. The Civic is now bigger than the original Accord and the Accord was a midsized family sedan. I think a lot of people equate size to people space. The Prius will swallow a lot of stuff, but it is kinda tight on people space, especially in the back.
