i was parked at symphony hall garage the other night, for the pops performance of back to the future. on the way out of the garage, i saw two free charging stations. one was out of order and one was open, but it didn't seem worth moving the pip because i still had 8 miles of range left.

I do both also. Work is free and home is 9.6 cents/kwh. Not sure about stations yet.

Bisco, I think I remember you commenting in some other thread what your price was and I about swallowed my tongue. I see people describing outrageous prices in CA, too. Our price is sort of extra low since we just have a little 2-bedroom house and are pretty frugal with electricity having just returned from 9 years on an island where it was over 50 cents/kwh.

In 2-1/4 years in this house, we've never used more than 900 kwh in a month so we get it about as cheap as you can. I just hope that all my plugging in doesn't push us up into another price tier.

yeah, we don't get price tiers, that's the unfortunate part. there's no incentive to save. we're in a 3 bedroom cape with oil heat, and propane accessories. electricity is for the usual suspects. the pip did make a difference, and at 2 dollar gas, it would be cheaper not to plug in. (but my better half doesn't know that. yet.:p)

Strangely, I'm a guy from northern NY who surfs Todd's Prius inventory with regularity. Central Florida Prius peeps are lucky to have him around. He keeps a nice stock of very nicely priced PiP's. I've said before, it's really tempting to fly down and drive one of them home! Congrats on the sweet, silver PiP.

Well, don't let her see this thread!! LOL! FWIW, I have a feeling oil prices will go back up. They've already taken about a 10% jump here when OPEC started making noises like they were going to wake up again.

Thanks. I'm always bragging about Todd. A friend at church just bought a PiP from Todd a couple months ago and Todd gave me a really nice gift card. Todd doesn't dicker, but his prices seem fair from the get-go and I'm astonished at his integrity. I'm on my 4th one from him now. We bought two the first Monday after we moved back here from Honduras in '14. Wife's got rear ended last December and demolished. Bought the replacement from him. Then mine was just getting kind of worn out, so we went right back there.
