I haven't seen the details. Are there limits on the types of things on which you can write off the sales tax? Back when we could do it, we kept track in Quicken as part of the check or CC entries, but stopped when it had no value.

 

I'm not sure of any restrictions. I would recommend asking your tax advisor on that one. My understanding is that there will be tables "guesstimating" the "typical" sales tax for the average household. For those who itemize, they can save their receipts, and calculate their sales tax payouts manually. If the amount is larger than the table for their breakdown, then they can take the larger calculated number.
