This strikes me as a false syllogism. Olympic tech is as wild as the ruling bodies let teams use. Except for stones. Curling brooms got 'too good' and were dialed back.

I think it might be an interesting demonstration to have wooden skis and horse-bone skates vs. modern tech. Not if somebody dies though.
