Are you concerned about money being paid to our government? Are you worried that the money sent to the government might pay for government-sponsored endeavors such as socialized health care, communist regimes, or just horded for the benefit of the elected officials.

My advice is that you get used to it since we've been funding socialized medicine, a careless government, and a communist dictator for years.

Very little entertains me more than watching all those people who criticized Jugo Chavez for calling Bush "The Devil" and called for a ban on all Venezuelan oil imports as they refill their guzzlers at the locally Citgo.

I read the article- kind of pathetic, actually. We should stop worrying about man-caused global warming because 700 scientists doubt it? What there are only 701 scientists on the planet? And we should worry about what the Australian Senate (which is a lot like ours'- why should Wyoming's 532K people have as much to say as California's 37.6 million on this bill or any other?) thinks- not that it has voted yet. Or a bunch of bloggers? The article was short on fact and long on imagination and misapplication.

The good news is that the hysteria in mostly among those out of power these days. And it should be noted that the margin in the House may be misleading. Many times, congressmen from less safe districts are allowed to vote against the Party because the leadership knows they can pass the bill. That way they can say they voted against the bill next year, and the bill that they really supported still becomes law. Just politics- ain't it grand?

I'll look more into the bill as requested before I comment further. I don't like hidden agendas hidden in bills either.

The really crappy thing about the whole deal is that this is being based mainly on CO2 emissions and not any of the other terrible effects of burning fossil fuels which taken as a whole create a great many deleterious effects that we should be tackling and that stricter regulations and charging more for their use would help correct. I just don't like that all this is based soley on climate change which is, as we all know, changing and always will change. Fortunately many of thee new technolgies will help us to cope with climate change better than simply relying on fossil fuels.

I fully believe that we won't won't do anything serious about gas until it starts to run out.
