Victim of Prius Hate? Or addicted to Prius Love? In my opinion. Without evidence of the actual event, and going only by unfortunate result, there is no way of knowing if this was an intentional act of malice or a simple act of inconsiderate stupidity. Since nobody can know? I'll give humanity a slight break, and say it was just stupidity...not an act of malice. The only other reality? To get it fixed it's probably going to cost you. Even superficial cosmetic scratch repair is spendy.
I was hesitant to open this thread expecting the worse, slightly relieved but I do feel for your pain. I always try to park as far away as possible, never parking next to ratty looking cars since I feel if you can't take care of your own, what makes you think they'll care about yours. I remember one time right after we bought our Prius, I parked near the front of a supermarket and this old lady came to her car and opened her door to load her groceries and kept slightly hitting my car several times with me sitting in the driver side! Thankfully there were no scratches but to this day I'll park the farthest and walk as I can use the exercise, and usually when I come back there's almost always a new looking luxury car parked next to mine lol.
There are people who hate the Prius, and those people are usually the ones who drive the big land yachts. I don't no why they should hate the Prius, because of the simple fact that the fuel the Prius saves leaves more fuel for the large vehicles.
I cant stand when people drive slow in fast lanes or driving the same speeds as the car in the slow lane. I noticed that usually its a Prius blocking the traffic, probably trying to get better mpgs, just like myself. So to make people hate Prius less, just dont block the fast lanes, even if you still doing the speed limits. There are plenty of people that needs to go faster and Prius being of their way it just not a good idea. Just another reason to ding or scratch when they see it parked. I like to go fast when i need to and i always let people go when they need to. They are not nice person holes, they just need to get there faster. so let it be. C
I just park pretty far out and look for strategic places like bounded by curbs and preferably not under trees. I pretty much never park close in with all the cars coming and going, shopping carts. Watch out for any spaces when car is parked nose down. That's when a door can swing open and hit yours. Really windy days, not good. For yours, defintely do not dab touch up paint on it. Have a professional work it.
End of July we were in a line of cars for literally 1/2 hour waiting to get into the SC County fairgrounds. These 2 massive SUV's straight up came along side the cars at the front and cut into the line just 2 cars behind me. 2 SUVs cut in line. Something like Ford Excursions, huge. Total a*holes. Scumbags.
After a few months of driving, I found a straight deep scratch on the driver's side door. The white clearly stands out in the red. Probably, done using a key. After that, I was told Ohio is known for scratching on new cars. I just fell victim!
