My Self Reliance. YouTube chronicle of a man in Ontario, trying to become more self-reliant. He has a treed property, has made several log cabin structures, gardening, maple syrup making, hunting/fishing, preserviing. Not a luddite but sticks to hand tools as much as possible, starts fires with flint and birch bark shavings. Has family in town, divides his time between them and the property, and they sometimes visit. Has a fantastic dog too.

I wasn't ready for the finale yet. Watching it on PBS News Hour Special Report on YouTube and filtering out the PBS color commentary. Normally I would watch the whole thing, but some of those are almost 5 hours.
They aren't too hard to follow on YouTube with the playback speed setting at 1.5 or 1.75x. 2x is a bit hard for me to follow. I can get almost used to 1.5 or 1.75x, and then switch to normal programming, and wonder whyyy evvverrryonne iss tallllkkinng soo slllowwwly.
I haven't tried any of those settings yet. Not in much of a hurry to finish. It is terrifying and troubling just how close our republic came to failure. I am not going to get all political, which might not be allowed in this forum and isn't my penchant anyway. The danger of autocracy remains. In the end, I hope there is justice.
mrs b has been watching 'the lincoln lawyer' on netflix. i'm not interested, but last night, a got was being arrested roadside, and he stepped out of his car with the officers pointing their guns at him. they told him to get on the ground, but he backed away into the traffic and got waylaid. that was a funny scene.
