    Yes, but when you replace an ICE what happens to the parts.. The point of the article was not instante recycle, but reuse with a different purpose.. massive UPS buffer for houses (or computers), or maybe for wind-power storage or off-grid home solar storage.

    When the battery of a good car dies it goes to battery heaven.

    When the batteries in a Lexus LS hybrid or Escalade hybrid die they go to battery hell.

    Yes - and when the battery of a good car dies, all of its ancillary components instantly convert to sun beams and children's smiles.
