Where have all the mice gone? Long time passing

    "A Felis concolor -- cougar-- has been about... maybe it peed on the tire while it was catching mice."

    No one who has heard those cats 'meow' is likely to forget it.

    If the vehicle area presents as a food source, kitty would not scent mark there. At least it would be contrary to general biology understanding.

    Cougars, at times, do mark kill sites with urine. Usually it's the males. Depending, they will initially feed at the site and later move the remains to a cache site.

    Obviously, with a mouse kill, none of that happens. Been a large number of cougar sightings this year and a large number of deer in the area. My dogs have been dragging home various deer parts for the past few months.

    No mice caught last night and no bait taken.

    Your post about cougars around homes made me think of this little feller -- he decided to invite himself into a house that I imagine is not all that far from where you live in Oregon.
