    Well, congratulations to Germany. I did want them to win in the final, in part because they were so good against Brazil and Portugal, and in part because I've never been a big fan of Argentina.

    And, for you Americans, it means you only just lost out to the team that went on to win the World Cup.

    I enjoy watching fine althleticism and rarely root for a team to win or lose.
    So I have to say, the winning goal was pretty damned awesome.

    watched it with our son, he's a big fan. i had no idea it was such a violent sport. not like watching the kids at all.:eek: congrats to germany!

    Ah, no, wanting people to win and lose is very much my thing.

    But yes, that winning goal was fantastic: it was among the best of the tournament. And what a stage to do it on.

    I think these two were my favourite goals. There is a degree of bias in my choosing one of them, but I still think it was great.
