You are ALL so misinformed  Scorpious is THE ultimate captain. " Scorpius works for the Peacekeeper military, but only so far as working for them serves his purposes. His single-minded mission: to develop a means to control the creation, and travel possibilities, of the natural space phenomenon known as wormholes. His development of the Aurora Chair was a major coup and he uses it no matter how cruel it might be to his advantage. His primary mission now is to find Crichton, because the secret to wormhole technology may be locked in the human astronaut's mind, placed there by the race known as The Ancients. " Period In addition, all the major hotties on that show farscape . . . now we're talkin si fi ! !
I remember seeing an ad for a T-Shirt with a person that looked like that wearing Vulcan ears. The caption read "Keep On Treking" and it was sold to make fun of Star Trek fans. Kinda ironic that a T-Shirt that said that Star Trek fans were overweight was available in Large, X-Large and XX-Large only. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(priusguy04 @ Feb 21 2007, 05:28 PM) </div>
Anybody see Galaxy Quest? It's about some washed-up actors at a sci-fi convention abducted by alians that saw their TV show light-years away. Now Tim Allen and crew have to REALLY save their civilization and they are not gone to take him saying: "Get a life - it was just a show!" It's sooo funny that Signorey Weaver goes from her smart and edgy roles in Alien to a Star Trek space babe.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Stev0 @ Feb 20 2007, 11:16 PM) </div> A horny moron?
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(eagle33199 @ Feb 21 2007, 09:21 AM) </div> And you forgot Captain (later Fleet Captain) Christopher Pike from the original pilot and the two parter "Menagerie".
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(efusco @ Feb 20 2007, 07:00 PM) </div> Shame! If you're a real trekker, you know that Captain Christopher Pike was the real original (from the original Star Trek pilot episode). Or was it Jonathan Archer... Prequels are so confusing. I voted Picard, by the way. Stronger, deeper character... better writing... didn't try to have sex with every green-skinned alien in the quadrant.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Wiyosaya @ Feb 21 2007, 01:58 PM) </div> Sci-fi mainstay Harlan Ellison wrote that episode, and Roddenberry didn't like it. He sent it back a number of times requesting rewrites, and Ellison made minor changes before finally fulfilling what he was contractually obligated to do. At that point, the ST:TOS writers took over, and kind of gutted the episode. Even with the cuts, it was one of the best written ST:TOS episodes. The original dealt with rogue narcotics dealers aboard the Enterprise, murder among the crew, and the personal weaknesses of Kirk. It was an excellent piece of science-fiction, and would have made an excellent but totally out-of-character episode. Ellison released the original screenplay as a novel a few years back. If you get a chance to find it, and like the whole Star Trek genre, it's a great read. I found a reference to it on Amazon . Yes, my inner geek is making an appearance. Sorry. Dan
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(danoday @ Feb 22 2007, 03:54 PM) </div> No need to apologise. You're among friends here. Geekness is something to share. Besides, you've given me a new book to read. Thanks.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(hyo silver @ Feb 22 2007, 03:39 PM) </div> Thanks. I look forward to hearing what you think about the novel.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(aaf709 @ Feb 21 2007, 05:17 PM) </div> I'd definitely want to serve under the hot mechanic of Serenity. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(Delta Flyer @ Feb 21 2007, 07:22 PM) </div> That movie was hilarious. Space aliens intelligent enough to build real spceships from their TV-show models, but stupid enough to believe the sci-fi TV show was a documentary. The premise is so ridiculous it sustains the whole movie and even Sigourny Weaver cannot spoil it. But can you really say the aliens abducted the actors? They were absolutely honest with them as to where they were taking them and what they wanted them to do, and the actors went of their own free will. Just because the actors didn't believe the aliens until it was too late, does that make it abduction?
Maybe abduction was not the right word. I'd love to see more spoofs on Star Trek. Imagine what Mike Myers could do.
My vote is for Kirk: He got all the hot babes. End of story. As for who is the best actor, Patrick Stewart had more talent than all the others put together. But that isn't what was asked.
