I remember seeing an ad for a T-Shirt with a person that looked like that wearing Vulcan ears. The caption read "Keep On Treking" and it was sold to make fun of Star Trek fans. Kinda ironic that a T-Shirt that said that Star Trek fans were overweight was available in Large, X-Large and XX-Large only. :lol:

I voted Picard, by the way. Stronger, deeper character... better writing... didn't try to have sex with every green-skinned alien in the quadrant.

Sci-fi mainstay Harlan Ellison wrote that episode, and Roddenberry didn't like it. He sent it back a number of times requesting rewrites, and Ellison made minor changes before finally fulfilling what he was contractually obligated to do. At that point, the ST:TOS writers took over, and kind of gutted the episode. Even with the cuts, it was one of the best written ST:TOS episodes.

The original dealt with rogue narcotics dealers aboard the Enterprise, murder among the crew, and the personal weaknesses of Kirk. It was an excellent piece of science-fiction, and would have made an excellent but totally out-of-character episode.

Ellison released the original screenplay as a novel a few years back. If you get a chance to find it, and like the whole Star Trek genre, it's a great read. I found a reference to it on Amazon .

That movie was hilarious. Space aliens intelligent enough to build real spceships from their TV-show models, but stupid enough to believe the sci-fi TV show was a documentary. The premise is so ridiculous it sustains the whole movie and even Sigourny Weaver cannot spoil it.

But can you really say the aliens abducted the actors? They were absolutely honest with them as to where they were taking them and what they wanted them to do, and the actors went of their own free will. Just because the actors didn't believe the aliens until it was too late, does that make it abduction?

 

My vote is for Kirk: He got all the hot babes. End of story.

As for who is the best actor, Patrick Stewart had more talent than all the others put together. But that isn't what was asked.

 

The one before Kirk, played by "Cameron" from Feris Beuller's Day Off. He was mint.
