Wrong. They wanted the quarters also. Everywhere you go in Mexico, at every corner (so it seems) there are people (not just kids) cleaning windshields in hopes of a tip. Mexicans usually don't tip them. Foreigners might not get off so easily. I would not dream of driving in Mexico.
