Don't kick yourself too hard, tbstout2. Despite UTQC and DOT ratings, comparing tires is really difficult. I noticed on the picture you included that is says the OEM tires are 824.25 revs per mile, but Goodyear and Toyota say they are 855 revs per mile. Thirty revolutions per mile difference is pretty big. The biggest hit to good MPG is the tire's rolling resistance, and that is measured by each manufacturer and only touted when it's good, and you can't really compare between manufacturers. For good MPG, tires should be narrow and hard. For good handling, tires should be wide with soft rubber. Finding the balance, at the right price, is the hard part.
